To disarm the control
panel and open a
garage door from an
outside keypad.
The system is disarmed and the garage door is opened from the outside through the use of a
weather resistant keypad. When the correct code is entered a step arming zone will be
tripped, disarming the control panel. At the same time another zone is tripped, momentarily
energizing the on-board relay which will open the garage door.
1) When the correct code is entered, two pull to ground outputs on the IEI keypad are tripped
momentarily. One output will trip Zone 1 which will disarm the control panel.
2) The other output will trip Zone 2 which will momentarily energize the on-board relay, opening
the garage door.
Note: The red LED on the IEI keypad is ON when the system is armed.
The green LED is ON when the system is disarmed.
This application can be useful when children arrive home before their
parents. This keypad will allow them to safely enter the home with the
use of a simple code, therefore eliminating the possibility of a lost key.
